I brought my new lights to my friend Mariel's going away party.(shes having a vacation in the states for only a month this was actually just an excuse to drink) So i played around with the lights and with my friends.. asking them to do silly poses! :) The whole set can be found here.
I played around with my new lights again today. I know these shots are far from perfect.. well I was never a fan of controlled lighting but I'm starting to enjoy this. :)
This photo was taken way back during my stay in Cavite last Holy Week. The background of this photo is a bit freaky. In our Parish Church in Cavite there are ladies selling candles outside the church they light these red candles as an offering to the the saints or whoever. They even have these human wax figures that you can buy and they would melt it with the candles. The Philippines is a predominantly Christian country and its really freaky that we have these paganistic tradition that people still believe in upto now. The fact that the church allows these vendors to continue doing this is even freakier!
I just got my new lights the other day and did some trial shots at home and at the office. I didn't have much time to play with the lights yet since i've been really busy at work. :)
My brothers and I slept over at Bonsai's house in Paranaque last Saturday. The next day I went to laguna to shoot a house and ask all of them to tag along with me for the long drive. After the shoot we went to Leslie's in Tagaytay to eat and after downing a few bottles beers we were jumping like crazy. hehehe. I took these photos with the cam mounted on a tripod and triggered via remote. :)
Well well well... Its cousin Bonsai again! These photos were taken when we went this Ukay-ukay place in Tagaytay after our presentation at Nurture Spa. She had no idea that I was taking photos while she was busy rummaging through the countless racks of clothes.
I went to a Side A benefit concert last Saturday that my friend organized. It was a concert for PAGES foundation which stands for phil american group of educators and surgeons. Its a foundation based in the US and conducts yearly medical mission in the phils. The concert also featured Agot Isidro, Rachelle Anne Go, and Basil Valdez. I shot these using my 50mm f1.8 lens to achieve that shollow depth of field. I cropped these photos and obviously post proccessed them in photoshop by playing around with the levels and saturation. :)
